Two local boys grew up in NW Florida, not knowing each other, but on fairly identical paths that later crossed. Meet the founders Sean and Jason and the Eventure Experience Director Tim.
Sean grew up in Fort Walton Beach, and right after graduating form Choctaw high school, felt a need to depart the area and pursue the world. Quickly finding his passion and talent with his photography calling, he found himself traveling the world and perched amongst the best photographers in the world. Raising a family and continuing to perfect his craft, he always had a soft spot for his home in North West Florida.
Jason grew up in Destin around the same time. Raised a waterman, like Sean, he chose a different path and immediately joined the US Coast Guard directly after graduating from Fort Walton Beach High School. Jason also thrive in his military career starting as an enlisted member, and later attaining a Commission. After finishing his career of serving and travel, he also always had an itch to return to his hometown with his wife and two young boys.
WHY EVENTURE? Why Now?
With similar passions/hobbies and a mixture of same sets of friends thrown in, it didn’t take long for the two to pair up. Both Sean and Jason have a strong belief that while although they’ve seen a ton of growth in their hometown, the bones that make it great are still as strong as ever, even if they’ve been overshadowed by development. The goal of bringing a better awareness aspect to the area was hatched with the concept of Eventure SoWal. Eventure is focused on electric transportation (most notably electric bicycles) and will give a spin to adventure with electric assistance, hence “e"venture. A fleet of guided tours flow through Walton County ‘charging’ the area with a fun vibe focused on area insightfulness, and collaboration amongst fellow small businesses.
One goal of Eventure SoWal is to bring awareness to all the great venues/vendors of 30A as you travel to the entire 18 miles to the other end on a bike that makes you feel as though you’re 20 years younger. One tour idea we've affectionately called the "conceirge" focuses on our favorite restaurants, best paddleboarding locations, nightlife spots, and other insights gained from or over 35 years of local knowledge. Foodie Tours are another example of one of the offered tours, where we’ve set up stops at favorite restaurants to sample the best of their menus, and then zip on to the next restaurant on a "pedal or not” electric bike. The tours are focused on fun, outdoor vibes, and a new perspective of transportation that is growing at an exceptional rate around the planet. While most people consider the “e” in ebike to be defined as “electric” we at Eventure define it as = equalizer. It allows the multitude of people with different levels of strength, age, and endurance levels - to all be on an equal playing field where no one ever gets left behind.
Future plans for Eventure Tour Co. include incorporating electric-assisted paddleboards which will allow non-experienced paddle boarders the opportunity to see more and be less tired as they explore the Coastal Dune Lakes and perhaps the Choctawhatchee Bay with members of the local non-profit Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance who work so hard to keep our waters clean and safe. Maybe a tour just 45 minutes north from the beach to some of the most magnificent fresh water fed springs on an electric assisted paddle boards is what your family deserves. Ultimately, the goal is to show people some of the beautiful sights that North West Florida has to offer besides the obvious sugary sandy beaches.
